Carolina Ascent FC moves up to the third spot in this Week’s Power Rankings, its highest position since Week 13, after securing the 2-1 win over Lexington SC last weekend. The home side took an early lead before Mia Corbin scored what ended up being the game-winner in the 35th minute.
Although Lexington was on the losing end of the match, the team got on the board in the 82nd minute with a long-range goal from Hannah Richardson. It looked as if the team would secure a late comeback with the momentum on its side after cutting into the deficit, but Carolina’s Meagan McClelland held strong in goal to preserve the win.
Tampa Bay Sun, however, knows a thing or two about coming from behind to earn a result. For the second week in a row, the Sun scored the equalizer to earn a draw. Parker Goins scored her first goal of the season early in the second half to even the score after Dallas Trinity’s Lexi Missimo recorded her first goal just four minutes into the match.
Through the first three matches of the spring, we’ve seen nine goals split between all six participating teams. With Week 21 featuring all eight clubs in action, it’s likely we’re in for a goal-filled weekend.

Carolina Ascent FC (6-3-6) Week 21: vs. DC |

Dallas Trinity FC (6-3-6) Week 21: vs. SPK |
![]() Last Week: 3 |
The combination between new signing Lexi Missimo and leading-scorer Allie Thornton proved to be a promising one for Dallas Trinity as they recorded the opening goal on Saturday. However, the team has struggled to hold on to leads, and its defensive formation was exploited by Tampa Bay’s wingers, resulting in dropped points. |

Scoring has never been a problem for Lexington, as it recorded its 13th out of 15 matches with at least one goal. But the sloppy passes and inability to clear lines overshadows the offensive efforts every time. The defensive cohesion is still not quite there for the Girls in Green. |
