The USL Super League announced the Team of the Month for October on Wednesday, with Lexington SC striker Madi Parsons selected as Player of the Month.
Parsons recorded her and the club’s first professional brace in the 2-1 comeback win against Fort Lauderdale United on October 19.
“Scoring my first brace was truly a surreal moment for me and was a huge success for our team,” Parsons said. “Moments like that remind me why I love the game, and to have helped my team in such a significant way made it even more special.”
Along with the two goals, the forward also recorded two assists, three of six shots on target, and 15 duels won while playing 359 minutes for Lexington this month.
GK: Madison White, Dallas Trinity FC – The Texas Tech alum recorded seven saves and earned her first professional clean sheet to help the Trinity to an undefeated month.
D: Jill Aguilera, Carolina Ascent FC – The outside back played all 360 minutes for Carolina this month, recording one assist, 19 clearances and 16 duels won.
D: Hannah Davison, Dallas Trinity FC – Davison has been the cornerstone of Dallas’ defense and led the league this month in passing accuracy (87.37%). She scored the opening goal in Dallas’ win over Spokane, won eight duels and made 10 clearances.
D: Claire Constant, DC Power FC – The Haitian international recorded 21 duels won, 13 clearances and five interceptions to help DC Power to its first two wins of the season.
D: Celia Gaynor, Fort Lauderdale United FC – The Michigan State Spartan made 18 clearances and won nine duels while playing every minute for FTL UTD this month.
M: Sydny Nasello, Tampa Bay Sun FC – Nasello was a gamechanger for the Sun this month; she contributed to two of three goals off the bench in the match against DC and scored her first goal of the season against Brooklyn.
M: Marley Canales, Spokane Zephyr FC – The UCLA Bruin’s incredible shot from distance gave Spokane its lone win of the month. Canales also won 16 duels and five tackles in her 322 minutes played.
M: Sam Kroeger, Brooklyn FC – Kroeger is one of Brooklyn’s key players on both sides of the ball; she had a goal and assist as well as league highs in tackles won (12) and interceptions (11).
M: Mackenzie Pluck, Brooklyn FC – The Duke alum was another star for Brooklyn this month. Pluck recorded two assists, seven tackles won and a league-leading 55 duels won while playing every minute of all seven matches.
F: Ashlynn Serepca, Carolina Ascent FC – The Alabama alum recorded six shots and four shots on target this month and converted two in the win against Brooklyn to earn the first brace in Ascent history.
F: Madi Parsons, Lexington SC – Parsons recorded both goals in the come-from-behind win against Fort Lauderdale and tacked on two assists in Lexington’s most successful month of the season.
Coach: Pauline MacDonald, Dallas Trinity FC – In her first full month since joining the team, MacDonald led Dallas Trinity to a win and two draws, as the group remains undefeated at the Cotton Bowl.
