The excitement for the Super League’s inaugural season grows as more players are announced to team rosters this summer. Five clubs have added 11 players to their squads over the past week. Here’s a look at all the newest Super Signings:
Goalkeeper Sydney Martinez was announced Friday as Brooklyn FC’s first ever signing. Martinez spent five years at the University of South Florida, where she earned multiple honors and broke program records. In 2022, she won the USL W League Golden Glove and Finals MVP after leading South Georgia Tormenta to the first W League title. She has also made several appearances with the Puerto Rican Women’s National Team.
Natasha Flint is joining the Tampa Bay Sun after spending multiple years playing professionally in Europe with clubs such as Manchester City and Liverpool FC. The striker most recently played for Celtic FC for the 2023-24 season, where she scored eight goals to help the club take home the Scottish Cup title. Flint also represented England at the youth national level, including reaching the final of the 2013 UEFA Women’s U-19 Championship.
Striker Ashley Clark is another addition to Tampa Bay Sun’s roster for the 2024-25 season. Clark played four seasons at Campbell University, where she started 76 of 79 matches played and scored 46 goals. Clark will be returning to the U.S. after captaining Olympique de Marseille in France.
Hannah Keane is the third Tampa Bay signee this week. The striker scored 29 goals during her time at San Diego State, the fifth-most in program history. Keane most recently played for Australian club Western United, where she won the A-League Golden Boot Award. Prior to Western United, Keane played at multiple clubs in Europe and in the U.S. in the WPSL.
Carolina Ascent FC signed goalkeeper Meagan McClelland, who is coming from Danish club Odense Boldklub Q. She recorded six clean sheets in eight appearances there to close out the 2023/24 season. McClelland played for three NWSL clubs and most recently won the 2023 NWSL Championship with NY/NJ Gotham FC. She also represented the US Youth National Team from the U17 to U23 levels.
Jodi Ülkekul is returning to Spokane to join Zephyr FC since playing for the Gonzaga women’s soccer team from 2015 to 2018. Ülkekul led Gonzaga’s backline starting in 69 of her 74 matches and recording seven goals and eight assists. Ülkekul played overseas with CD Castellón in Spain and AS Roma in Italy prior to her stint with the NWSL’s Seattle Reign FC.
Alyssa Bourgeois will be another addition to Spokane Zephyr for the 2024-25 season. Bourgeois was selected by the Houston Dash earlier this year with the 47th overall pick in the NWSL draft, and she played collegiately for Santa Clara University. Her career as a Bronco included 43 starts in 51 matches and one goal to go along with six assists.
The third Zephyr signing this week was midfielder Jennifer Vetter. Vetter comes to Spokane after a stint with Portugal’s Racing Power FC, where she played 29 matches and scored 14 goals. Vetter’s collegiate career was spent with Minnesota State University, where she led her team in goals in her final two seasons, accumulating 31 goals in those years.
Hailey Davidson will return to her hometown as one of Dallas Trinity’s newest signings. The defender is joining the club after spending the last year with New Zealand’s Wellington Phoenix and Sweden’s Mallbacken. Prior to her professional career, Davidson played two seasons at the University of Oklahoma before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh. During her five years in college, she logged 6,490 minutes and recorded four goals and eight assists.
Haley Berg is another Texas-bred signing coming to Dallas Trinity. Berg played for the Texas Longhorns from 2017-2021, scoring 24 goals in 73 appearances. The midfielder has spent the last three years in Europe playing for clubs in Spain, Denmark, Iceland, and most recently Turkey with Fenerbahçe S.K.
The third addition to Dallas Trinity this week is another Texas native, Allie Thornton. The attacker is returning to Dallas, where she spent four years playing for Southern Methodist University. Thornton started in all but one of her 79 games as a Mustang while recording 37 goals and nine assists. She is joining the Trinity after spending the last year in Belgium with Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht.
